The national dress of Dagestan women in historical dynamics: the problem of conservation and development

In the context of the development of traditional culture, the problem of preserving the national clothing of the Dagestani peoples as an important component of ethnic identity becomes particularly relevant. For centuries, women's clothing has reflected historical and cultural traditions, the ethnic specificity of the people, and has been an important source of information. An analysis of the current state of this problem shows that the traditions of national clothing are being eroded in the context of the re-Islamization of society. This is most evident in women's clothing. The adoption of clothing styles from Arab countries is widespread, driven by Islamic requirements. It is concluded that despite the socio-cultural transformations of society in the pre-revolutionary and Soviet periods, the traditional clothing of the Dagestani peoples retained its ethnic and cultural characteristics. Today, this requires significant efforts from society and the state. The public consciousness of Dagestanis should be shaped to understand that national clothing is not only an important part of material culture, but also an ethnic code for many generations of Dagestani people.
